KOBRIN, Brest region - Peak volumes of gas removal from underground storage facilities located in Belarus will triple by 2020, the CEO of Russian gas major Gazprom Alexei Miller told journalists in Kobrin, Belarus on Thursday.

“By 2020 we plan to triple peak gas removal from underground gas storage facilities. Ambitious tasks, but totally realistic,” he said.


Belarus has three underground gas storage facilities capable of holding a combined 960 million cubic meters. At the moment, peak gas removal from the existing storage facilities is 18 million cubic meters a day.
