You're reading: Georgian President: Russians are not Georgia’s enemies

The relations between Russians and Georgian must be preserved, said Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.

“The people of Russia is not our enemy, it is their government, but that is temporary. The more Russian citizens visit Georgia, the more difficult it will be for the current Russian government to launch another reckless venture against us because Russian citizens will see for themselves that it is a peaceful place here,” Saakashivili said at the opening of a new modern 156-room hotel in the village of Kazbegi on Saturday.

Thousands of Russian tourists crossing the Georgian-Russian border will definitely avail of this hotel, the Georgian president said.
