An accidental cutoff of the engine by one of the crew members is considered as the most likely cause of an incident with an An-148 aircraft of Rossiya airline, which, when performing a flight on the Hamburg-Saint Petersburg route on March 5, made a safe landing with a failed engine.

"The key cause of the incident with the An-148 aircraft considered by the commission of inquiry is the accidental cutoff of an engine by one of the crew members," the management of OJSC Motor Sich (Zaporizhia) told Interfax-Ukraine on March 7.

The commission of inquiry consists of Russian specialists and a Motor Sich representative.

"The official results of the investigation have not been made public," the representative said.

As reported, according to the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency, an An-148 aircraft of Rossiya airline, performing a flight on the Hamburg-Saint Petersburg route on March 5, made a safe landing with a failed engine.

"The landing was made at 1640 Moscow time. During the flight one engine failed," said the source.

According to him, a commission was established to investigate the circumstances and causes of the incident.
