Moscow - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has invited young people having Russian roots and living abroad to come to Russia to work at the Summer Universiade in Kazan in 2013, the Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014 and at the FIFA World Cup in 2018.

“I propose inviting Russian-speaking young people living abroad to work at international sports events to be held in Russia, including the Universiade in Kazan, the Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014, and the [football] world championship in 2018,” Medvedev said at the Russian World assembly on Saturday.

This would enable these young people to have a first-hand impression about Russia and create an atmosphere of free communication, he said.

Medvedev also suggested that the work of Russian culture centers operating in nearly 100 countries should be improved. “I also propose thinking about making universities render support to these centers,” Medvedev said.

This form of support exists in other countries and has proven its efficiency, he said.
