More than 122 billion rubles has been invested so far in the construction of energy infrastructure for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview on television channel Vesti 24.

“This is a huge job, more than 122 billion rubles has been invested, almost $4 billion,” Novak said.

“Power companies began this work back in 2008 and as of today 33 of the 46 facilities that need to be built have already essentially been put into operation,” Novak said.

The remaining 13 facilities are supposed to be launched by the end of the year. They are essentially completed, the relevant documentation is now being processed, Novak said.
