SOCHI - Russia firmly supports the idea that a solution to the Transdniestrian conflict should be found as part of the 'five plus two' negotiations, and Chisinau and Moscow pursue common approaches to this issue, Moldovan Foreign Minister Andrei Galbur told reporters after a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.

“Certainly, we discussed Transdniestria. We discussed all issues on our bilateral agenda. We have common approaches towards Transdniestria. The Russian side very firmly supports the goal of finding a solution to the Transdniestrian issue exclusively within the framework of the ‘five plus two’ negotiating process, showing respect towards the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova and finding a formula for the Transdniestrian region’s special status,” Galbur said when answering a question from Interfax.

“We discussed our bilateral dialogue and agreed to continue it in the same spirit, which is good and dynamic,” he said.
