Moscow, July 28 (Interfax) - The pilot of an A-319 passenger airplane was blinded by a green laser beam as he prepared to land the plane at Domodedovo Airport outside Moscow, a spokesman for the regional law enforcement services told Interfax.

"An Airbus A-319 airplane was hit by a green laser beam while landing at Domodedovo Airport at 10:50 p.m. Moscow time on Wednesday," the spokesman said.

Those suspected of pointing the laser pen were believed to be acting from the Kalinin neighborhood in the town of Lyubertsy in the Moscow region, he said.

The airplane landed safely at the airport despite the accident.
