You're reading: Russia to ban meat supplies from 14 foreign enterprises effective September 28

Rosselkhoznadzor has banned the supply of meat from 14 foreign enterprises starting from September 28 over violations of the Russian veterinary and sanitary requirements.

Among the violators there are four German enterprises, three Spanish enterprises, two U.S. enterprises, one French enterprise and one Polish enterprise.

The ban was imposed after substances prohibited in Russia, including antibiotics, were found in the products supplied by those enterprises.

The products shipped before September 28 will be subject to strict lab tests, Rosselkhoznadzor has reported.

Rosselkhoznadzor is also stepping up control over products supplied by Moldovan firm Mistor-Bras and some Brazilian, Italian, and Uruguayan enterprises, in which dangerous bacteria and other substances have been found.
