Moscow, February 6 (Interfax) - Russian ombudsman on human rights, democracy and supremacy of law Konstantin Dolgov said legalization by the British and French parliaments of same-sex marriage will negatively impact the possibilities of adoption of Russian children by citizens of these countries.
“The British and French parliaments have legalized same-sex marriage. That narrows the possibilities of adoption of Russian children by citizens of these countries,” Dolgov said on Twitter on Wednesday.
According to earlier reports, the British parliament approved a government-proposed bill legalizing same-sex marriage.
A similar decision was made by the French parliament last week.
