You're reading: Russian international reserves down $6.9 billion in one week

Moscow - Russia's international reserves were down by $6.9 billion, to $503.9 billion in the week to September 6, the Russian central bank said on Thursday.

Reserves stood at $510.8 billion on August 30.

The current level of reserves is the lowest since the end of January, 2012 ($497.1 billion for January 20).

They consist of highly liquid financial assets at the disposal of the central bank and the Russian government, including foreign currency, monetary gold, special drawing rights, Russia’s reserve position at the IMF, and other reserve assets.
