ISTANBUL - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed during their telephone conversation on Wednesday to meet in person, the Turkish presidential press service said.

“The two leaders reached an agreement during the telephone conversation to hold a meeting in person,” the press service said in a statement published on the official website of the Turkish leader’s chancellery.

The two presidents emphasized the need to take appropriate steps to restore bilateral relations, it said.

A representative of Erdogan’s chancellery revealed earlier that “the conversation between the presidents of Turkey and Russia was held on a very positive note”.
