FIFA President Sepp Blatter and President of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) Anatoliy Konkov have again stressed the need to preserve the integrity of the current system of world football, the FFU's press service reported on Thursday.

Konkov made a working visit to Zurich where he met with Blatter at FIFA headquarters.

In addition, the FIFA president welcomed Konkov’s initiatives on the development of youth and grassroots football.

“Anatoliy Konkov also met with the heads of a number of FIFA’s structural subdivisions… and discussed further cooperation between the Ukrainian and international federations,” the FFU’s press service reported.

As reported, Blatter and Konkov are critical of the idea of holding a joint football leagues between Ukrainian and Russian clubs.

On January 20, 2013, FIFA President Blatter said at a press conference in St. Petersburg that it was impossible to hold the CIS league and advised Head of the Russian Football Union Nikolai Tolstoy to do everything to preserve the Russian Premier League.
