You're reading: Blokhin: England will be more nervous than Ukraine

DONETSK – Ukraine coach Oleh Blokhin has said he thinks that England will be more nervous than Ukraine in their decisive Euro 2012 group match.

“England is a good team. Everyone says that they’re tired, but I
can’t see that. Even if it were true, they still manage to reach their
aims, and develop their strategy during the games. We should consider
England as leaders in the Euros. If they lose, it will be unexpected.
There will be big problems for them, but it’s not the same for us….
The England team will be more nervous. They are one of the favorites and
are expected to play in the final. The pressure is on them. Our
approach to the game is more relaxed,” he said at a pre-match press
conference in Donetsk on June 18.

Blokhin also said that he was not worried about England striker Wayne Rooney.

“We should not think about Wayne Rooney. He is one of the best
strikers in the world, but we should think of the team as a whole,” he
said.

“We should show our way of playing, with speed and with fight,” Blokhin said.

He also added that Ukraine didn’t lack emotion against Sweden.

“We had lots of emotion. Against France, we didn’t have enough,” Blokhin said.
