You're reading: Hungarian referee Kassai won’t officiate at further Euro 2012 matches

The Hungarian football referee Viktor Kassai, who officiated at the Euro 2012 match between England and Ukraine on June 19, will not officiate in further matches of the championship.

At a press conference in Warsaw on Wednesday, UEFA Head of Referees Pierluigi Collina announced the names of the four referees (out of 12) that will leave the tournament after the group stage matches.

Apart from Kassai, the list includes Dutchman Bjorn Kuipers, who officiated at Ukraine-France match, Spaniard Carlos Velasco Carballo, who refereed the Euro 2012 opening match between Poland and Greece, and German referee Wolfgang Stark.
