UEFApresident Michel Platini has said that he is not a supporter of the introduction of any technologies for solving disputable episodes in football.

“I’m totally against goal-line technology. Why should not we have touch-line technology? We cannot have simply a goal-line technology, but we also need sensors for those who play using hands, etc. I’m against technology. This is my opinion. Maybe not everyone agrees, but I believe so,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Saturday.

Platini agreed that Hungarian referee Viktor Kassai for the England-Ukraine match made a mistake when he did not score the goal of Ukraine’s Marko Devic.

“Yes, there was a goal, there was a mistake of the referee. However, before this there was offside [for Artem Milevsky]. Why don’t we have a technology for offside?” he said.

Platini said that the decision to introduce the goal-line technology is to be made by FIFA and IFAB.
