Advertising Ukraine drought may affect global grain price

According to an Aug. 10 report by Interfax-Ukraine, Ukraine has completed harvesting early grains and leguminous crops, threshing 25.18 million tons, which is 23.1 percent down from season's crop.

Alona Liashenko writes: “As the world’s 2 leading grain exporters, the United States and Russia both faced droughts which have driven Wheat and Corn prices to a record high since Y 2008, rising grain costs have become an escalating global concern. In Ukraine, a key grain exporter in the Black Sea region, a heat wave has forced experts to cut this year’s grain harvest estimates, which, in turn, may affect global grain price.”
