Thirty-seven protesters were detained for breaching the public peace near the building of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration. Eighteen policemen were injured in the standoff, the public relations department of the Dnipropetrovsk regional police said.

The police “did not use specialized means and did not carry weapons” in the deterrence of the attack, the police emphasized.

“Mobile phones of the detainees contained text messages offering UAH 600-800 for joining the demonstration,” the police said.

A criminal case was opened on the counts of illegal actions near the
regional administration building, injuries of the police and attempts
upon the life of officers.
