Over 18,000 Ukrainians have already signed contracts for a military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of 2016, representative of Defense Ministry of Ukraine Oleksiy Chornobay said.
“Just through the last week almost 500 citizens came to sign contracts with the Armed Forces, including conscripts. Since the beginning of 2016, a number of volunteers for running military service on a contract basis totaled over 20,000 people, 18,000 already signed the contracts,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on April 12.
Besides, Chornobay reported that as of today 141,973 servicemen and employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine already obtained a status of the participants of war actions.
