You're reading: Activist throws excrement at Party of Regions lawmaker at his press conference

Excrement was thrown at Party of Regions MP Vadym Kolesnichenko at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday, April 9 dedicated to the problem of language use during the creation of biometric passports. 

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that a young woman entered the room during the press conference and threw two packages containing feces at him.

She also shouted: “The bandits have already crossed all limits!”

Kolesnichenko dodged the packages thrown at him, and one of them hit the wall behind him. The lawmaker described the woman as “sick.” The woman then ran out of the room, but was detained by security guards. After that media representatives called the police to register the fact of damage to property.

The woman, who is currently being held in the premises of the news agency until the police arrive, told reporters that her name is Yelyzaveta and that she is an activist of the Coalition of Participants in the Orange Revolution.

Kolesnichenko has already left the building of the news agency.
