Armed supporters of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic came to the building of the publishing house Donechchyna on Monday, demanding that the editorial policies of the newspaper Donbass and Vecherny Donetsk be changed.

“Representatives of the Donetsk People’s Republic are now inside the
building. They are preventing journalists and staff members from leaving
the building. Some ten armed people have occupied two floors of the
publishing house,” a staff member of Donechchyna told Interfax.

The staff of the publishing house said the supporters of the Donetsk
People’s Republic have expressed their outrage by the special editions
of newspapers on the unity of Ukraine. Negotiations are being conducted
with the administration of the paper Vecherny Donetsk and the
editor-in-chief of the paper Donbass has been taken from the building
and his location is currently unknown, the staff of the publishing house
said.

According to the local publication Ostrov, chief editors of Donbass
and Vecherny Donetsk, and one of their deputies, were taken out of the
publishing house and driven in unknown direction.
