We can't help but feel a bit cheated by politics in Britain, as everywhere else in the world they seem to jazz up the legislative process with impromptu bouts of fisticuffs -- here, politicians can't even stay awake...And the latest country to highlight our distinct lack of brawls in the Houses of Parliament is the Ukraine, where it appears even the vice speaker gets in on the action. During a recent debate, vice speaker Adam Martynyuk refused to allow Oleg Lyashko to make a speech on procedural grounds. This apparently irked the politician so much he responded by calling Martynyuk a "Pharisee." Now, while we don't know exactly what that means (it's something to do with being self-righteous) it's safe to say it didn't go down well... because it prompted Martynyukt to take matters (and Lyashko's throat) into his own hands.
