Ukrainian government forces are continuing the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) on the liberation of the town of Lutuhyne in Luhansk region, as well as Shakhtarsk and Torez in Donetsk region, on Monday, July 28, expanding the zone controlled by the ATO forces near the town of Horlivka (Donetsk region), the leader of the Information Resistance group (sprotyv.info), Dmytro Tymchuk, has reported.

“ATO forces units launched attacks on Shakhtarsk, Ternove, Ridkodub, and Savur-Mohyla. Simultaneously, ATO aviation forces destroyed a significant amount of insurgent manpower, armaments and fighting equipment,” he wrote on his page on Facebook on Monday morning, July 28.

Tymchuk noted that members of illegal armed groups conducted a counterattack near Luhansk, trying to push back the ATO forces.

“ATO forces’ positions at the airport in Luhansk kept up constant fire from MLRS BM-21 Grad rockets, tanks and mortars,” reads the statement.

“There were cases of the movement of small groups of militants disguised as civilians in the area of Sloviansk. The activity of subversive enemy reconnaissance groups has been observed in the liberated territories,” Tymchuk said.

In addition, ATO forces were fired on at their positions near Starobesheve, Amvrosiyivka, Savur-Mohyla, and the roadblock on the Olenivka-Donetsk highway. The attacks came from mortars and MLRS BM-21 Grad rockets.

Tymchuk also wrote that “the shipment of weapons and ammunition to the terrorists from the territory of occupied Crimea via the coast of the Azov Sea has been detected.”

“ATO positions in the border areas were fired on from Russia at least two times. The attacks came from artillery,” he said.
