Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov has promised that a new hospital will be constructed in Makiyivka (Donetsk region), as he was not satisfied by the conditions in which miners injured in the accident at Bazhanov coal mine are being treated.

"On Sunday I was in Makiyivka, and I visited [the miners]… I came into the hospital. I, the prime minister, was ashamed," Azarov told reporters on Tuesday during a working visit to Vasylivka in Vinnytsia region.

According to the premier, it has been decided to construct a new hospital in Makiyivka.

"This has to be done quickly. This [problem] should be resolved not only in Makiyivka," he said.

The premier added that he was pleased to hear a report of the head of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration, according to whom each hospital in the region this year "underwent at least repairs."

"Our task is to do such a thing not only in Vinnytsia region, but also all over Ukraine," Azarov added.
