The blocking of the work of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada hinders the drafting and adoption of bills that were agreed with the European Union as part of ongoing work on the signing of an Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

“The blocking of the work of the government and the parliament
actually hinders the drafting and adoption of legislation that we have
identified in our action plan agreed with the EU. This actually hinders
the European integration of Ukraine,” the Ukrainian government’s press
service quoted him as saying at a meeting with Polish and Swedish
Foreign Ministers Radoslaw Sikorski and Carl Bildt as part of the 20th
OSCE Ministerial Council meeting on Thursday.

Azarov also said that trilateral consultations between Ukraine,
Russia and the EU would contribute to the speedy signing of the
Association Agreement.

He said that the blocking of the work and the seizure of
administrative buildings hampers the resolution of current problems in
the life of the country and can lead to problems with the implementation
of social benefits.

He said that all conflicts must be resolved only through talks.

“I’m totally against the use of force. I’m ready to show maximum
restraint. But every day, in this extremely difficult situation, we have
to find solutions, and irresponsible politicians should not prevent us
from doing that,” Azarov said.
