Relations with the European Union will be among the scope of responsibilities of newly appointed First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Khoroshkovsky, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"The most important area will be European integration, we’re paying a great deal of attention to this field," the prime minister said while introducing the newly-appointed official to the members of the Cabinet, the government’s press service reported on Thursday.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych asked Azarov to decide on a candidate for the post of vice premier responsible for working with the European Union.
