Ukraine wants to cooperate with Russia in the fight against drug trafficking, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"We highly appreciate our cooperation and we will continue to work with your service. I reiterate our desire to cooperate in all areas, not only in the fight against drugs, but also in the area of law enforcement agencies," he said at a meeting with Director of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service Viktor Ivanov in Kyiv on March 6.

Ivanov, in turn, noted the high level of confidence in bilateral relations, as evidenced by numerous joint operations to neutralize drug dealers and combat drug smuggling.

Azarov also told Ivanov that Ukraine is preparing a draft national drug control strategy to run until 2020, which will be presented at an international conference in Kyiv on May 21-23.
