The Regions Party is ready for a constructive dialog with all political parties that win seats in the Verkhovna Rada after the parliamentary elections in Ukraine, Ukrainian Prime Minister and Regions Party leader Mykola Azarov has said.

“We, despite the fact that our opponents, to put it mildly, made a lot of improper statements, and sometimes even threw mud at our leaders, our party members, and used a lot of unfair methods against us, are ready for a constructive dialog with all political parties that will get into our Verkhovna Rada, understanding the importance and responsibility of our tasks,” he said in an interview with Zaporizhia Regional Television and Radio Company.

Azarov said that “the economy is not a [circus] ring – it’s hard work that requires huge knowledge and experience,” and, therefore, the Regions Party “is ready for maximum compromise, if only nobody interferes in our work and we are allowed to develop the country.”

He also invited all parties to hold the dialogue.

“And I consider my statement to be a proposal for such a dialog. We lent our helping hand. What did we get in return? A fist? Well, never mind them – we’ll manage without them. But if they are ready to shake hands, we will welcome this and sit at the negotiating table,” Azarov said.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is the honorary chairman of the Regions Party.
