The situation on the global market has affected the Ukrainian economy, and its further deterioration may lead to a cessation of the country's economic growth at the end of 2012, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

“We had an economic growth target of around 3.5% (for 2012). Now we
will be happy to have any growth at year-end at all,” the prime minister
said at a congress of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine on
Tuesday.

According to him, this is caused by the changes in price for Ukraine’s traditional export goods and the falling demand for them.

Another reason is the fact that the agricultural sector produced
around 10 million tonnes less grain this year, the premier said.
