You're reading: Azarov unhappy with road repairs in Ukraine

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov is unhappy with the course of road repairs, the press service of the Ukrainian government has said.

“I don’t see work being done at the scale that people expect and that our resources permit,” Azarov said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in Kyiv on Monday.

The head of the government ordered to check thoroughly whether assets foreseen for road repairs in Ukraine are being used effectively.

In particular, government officials will have to check whether relevant allocations were used properly by the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor), as well as whether the funds allocated for the maintenance of roads of local communities were spent effectively.
