SOFIA – Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev has spoken in favor of the increase of Ukraine's support by the North Atlantic Alliance, the decision about which should be taken at the NATO Summit in Warsaw in early July.
“During the meeting of NATO defense ministers it was decided to increase the support for Ukraine. We expect this decision will be approved at the NATO meeting in Warsaw,” Plevneliev said after the talks with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Sofia on Thursday.
He added that he expects the upcoming NATO summit in Warsaw to approve the assistance package for Ukraine to strengthen its security.
“We are working to increase the support through a comprehensive package of assistance for Ukraine. I am sure this assistance package will be approved at the summit in Warsaw in a few days,” Plevneliev said.
As reported, the NATO summit will be held in Warsaw, Poland, on July 8-9 2016.
