You're reading: Kolomoisky appointed head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Administration

Acting President Oleksandr Turchynov has dismissed Dmytro Kolesnikov from the post of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration's head and appointed Ukrainian businessman Ihor Kolomoisky, who is a co-owner of the Privat Group and Head of European Jewish Council, to the office.

Corresponding presidential decrees were posted on the president’s official Web site on Sunday.

The Privat Group, which has not been formalized as a legal entity, is one of Ukraine’s largest business groups and incorporates Ukraine’s No. 1 PrivatBank, as well as oil, ferrous metal, food, agriculture, and transport assets.
