KYIV, Nov 14 – The Cabinet of Ministers has instructed Naftogaz Ukrainy to cut off gas supplies to the public, budget establishments and heat and energy utility enterprises if they do not pay promptly for gas starting November 22.

The instruction is recorded in a protocol to a November 8 Cabinet meeting.

“Consumers are warned that if they do not pay for consumed gas within five days starting November 17, gas supplies will be cut off,” the protocol states.

The Cabinet decided to start the heating season across the whole country at its November 8 meeting, as earlier reported.

The Cabinet instructed Naftogaz to ensure deliveries of gas for the needs of the public, budget establishments and heat and energy utility enterprises by Friday, November 17. It drew up a schedule for deliveries of gas and payments for it on a ten-day basis.

As reported earlier, many towns have not been able to start the heating season due to problems with payments for energy resources.

Trade House Gaz Ukrainy is offering gas to boilers at Hr 231 per 1,000 cubic meters, including VAT and transport costs.

Naftogaz Ukrainy has announced several times that it will not supply gas to heat and energy utilities unless they pay for the required volumes of gas in advance, the report said.
