The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has issued a decree on the establishment of the State Fiscal Service via reforming the Income and Tax Ministry.
Decree No. 160 of May 21, 2014 has been posted on the official webportal of the government.
“[This decrees is] to establish the State Fiscal Service as a central executive body, whose activities are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers, reorganizing the Income and Tax Ministry,” reads the ruling.
According to the document, decision No. 67 of the Cabinet dated March 1, 2014 on the liquidation of the Income and Tax Ministry is recognized invalid.
Tthe State Fiscal Service, responsible for tax and customs policy of the country, will be subordinated to the Ministry of Finance and deprived of the right of legislative initiative. In addition, the service will include tax police until the final formation of the Financial Investigation Service, which will combine control and inspection functions and functions of pre-trial investigation in the field of prevention and fight against economic crimes.
