You're reading: Canadian doctors come to Kyiv to hold fourth round of surgeries on injured fighters, Maidan activists

A Canadian mission of 22 doctors has started working in Ukraine's Main Military Hospital and is to perform a series of surgeries on participants of the Revolution of Dignity and also Ukrainian servicemen, who were injured during the Russia's war against Ukraine.

“This is already the fourth mission. Over the past two yeas Canadian doctors have assisted over 100 patients. Each of the missions lasted for one week, the schedule was very tight, as sometimes one patient needed two-three, sometimes even four or five reconstruction surgeries,” chief of the General military and clinical hospital Anatoliy Kazmirchuk said at a briefing in Kyiv on Feb. 22.

He noted that as a part of the mission general hospital will also receive a large number of specialized tools for microsurgery and plastic surgery, and other medical equipment.

The mission is funded by the Canadian government.

It will work in Ukraine on Feb. 19-28.
