You're reading: Chief of Berlin clinic against Tymoshenko’s attendance at court

Ukraine's ex-prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in Kharkiv, has been visited by the chief of the Charite clinic in Berlin, who said her attendance at court hearings would bring the doctors' efforts down to naught.

Karl Max Einhaeupl met with the Batkivschyna party leader and with
doctors of the hospital where Tymoshenko is undergoing medical treatment
on Saturday, June 23, Deutsche Welle has reported.

Einhaeupl said Tymoshenko should not attend court hearings in the
coming days, because this would bring the efforts made by doctors over
the past few weeks to naught and that Tymoshenko’s condition could
stabilize in a few weeks and the hearings could be continued.

Doctor Annette Reischauer has arrived in Ukraine with Einhaeupl and
she will be Tymoshenko’s new attending doctor. Reischauer was in Kharkiv
on May 21-28. It is not known how long she will stay this time.
