The Ukrainian Armed Forces are ready to take anti-terrorism measures to ensure the security of the airspace over Euro 2012 host cities during the European football tournament.

"We see anti-terrorist security during the finals of the European football championship as the fulfillment of a military task. This is concrete, responsible work," Chief of General Staff and Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Volodymyr Zamana, said during an unscheduled visit to the 40th tactical air brigade in Kyiv region to check its readiness to fulfill air defense tasks, the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported.
