SARAJEVO, Bosnia — Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says Ukraine's weekend elections were a "step backward for Ukrainian democracy."

Speaking
in Bosnia alongside the European Union’s foreign policy chief,
Catherine Ashton, Clinton said the U.S. had deep concern with the
parliamentary vote.

President Vitkor Yanukovych’s main opponent is jailed and the vote was married by allegations of fraud.

Clinton said, “The people of Ukraine deserve so much better.”
