Communist Party of Ukraine has filed an appeal to the Kyiv Administrative Court of Appeals against Kyiv District Administrative Court's ruling that banned activities of this party on Dec. 16.

“The Communist Party of Ukraine considers the first instance court’s decision as illegal and having no grounds, the one taken with violations of the substantive and procedural law, so that is the subject to cancellation by the court of appeals to the full extent,” the party’s press service said on Monday.

As reported, the District Administrative Court of Kyiv banned the party under the request of Ukraine’s Justice Ministry.

On July 8, 2014, Justice Ministry of Ukraine and the State Registration Service of Ukraine lodged suit to the District Administrative Court of Kyiv to ban the Communist Party’s work on the territory of Ukraine.
