The cost of tickets for Intercity+ trains starting from 0000 on August 14, 2012 will be paid excluding VAT.

According to the press service of State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia, this is due to the enactment of the law on amending the Tax Code of Ukraine concerning the State Tax Service and in connection with the administrative reform in Ukraine, which foresees a zero VAT rate for passenger transportation by Intercity+ trains.

Thus, for the period until August 31 the basic cost of tickets in Intercity+ high-speed trains (on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) in the first class wagons on the Kyiv-Kharkiv route will be reduced by the VAT of UAH 66.68 and amount to UAH 350.34 taking into account insurance and the commission fee, that of tickets on the Kyiv-Lviv route will be cut by UAH 75.2 to UAH 393.59, and that of tickets on the Kyiv-Donetsk route – by UAH 89.85 to UAH 467.92.

The price of tickets in the second class wagons will be cut by UAH 45.98 on the Kyiv-Kharkiv route, by UAH 51.52 on the Kyiv-Lviv route, and by UAH 62.03 on the Kyiv-Donetsk route. The indexation coefficient of 1.02 will be used in September.

“In addition, the cost of tickets is adjusted depending on the calendar periods and the day of week,” Ukrzaliznytsia said.

Thus, the price of tickets on Thursday and Saturday is reduced by 10% and that on Friday and Sunday is increased by 10%.
