Judge Oksana Tsarevych has ruled it possible to interrogate a witness in the criminal case on the murder of Ukrainian parliamentarian Yevhen Scherban, who was shot dead in 1996, in the absence of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is a suspect in the case.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine reporter, the judge announced her decision when the court hearing resumed and journalists were admitted to the courtroom.

The interrogation is taking place at the courtroom of Kyiv’s Court of Appeals.

At the beginning of the interrogation the witness said his name in a very low voice, so that the journalists could not hear it.

The witness also said that he had never had any personal relationships with Tymoshenko.
