The Desniansky District Court in Kyiv has postponed the hearing of the case against two policemen charged with causing the death of student Ihor Indylo for July 18 due to the absence of the lawyer of one of the defendants.

On Wednesday, the court was to start trial on the merits of the case, however the lawyer of one of the defendants, Oleksandr Plakhotniuk, was not able to come to the sitting and the court announced a break until 1000 on July 18.

As reported, 20-year-old student Ihor Indylo died from a fractured skull and internal bleeding after being arrested and interrogated by two police officers at the Shevchenkivske district department of police in Kyiv in May 2010. Immediately, a criminal case was opened against the policemen in question.

The case had already been considered in court, but was sent back for a new trial.
