The Crimean republican organization of the Regions Party has approved ten candidates for the Verkhovna Rada deputies on ten single-mandate majority constituencies in Crimea in the parliamentary elections, according to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent.

The decision was made at the 17th conference of the Crimean republican organization of the Regions Party.

The leader of the Crimean organization of the Regions Party, Anatoliy Mohyliov, when speaking to participants in the conference, said that the candidates put forward were approved by the initial party organizations, as well as at regional and city conferences. These candidatures were also discussed with the local communities.

“We consciously placed our stake on Crimean residents and those who proved devotion to the peninsula. Our representatives have been strongly related to Crimea for a long time. Most of them grew up in Crimea and achieved a high professional level here,” he said.

He also stressed that the Party of Regions in Crimea is interested in holding fair, transparent and legitimate elections.

“Crimea has been and remains the basic political region for our political force and our leader Viktor Yanukovych. We are the only force that has fundamental and political weight in Crimea,” the official said.
