You're reading: Crimean parliament forms new ministries, government departments

 The Crimean Supreme Council has changed the executive power system and structure of the autonomous republic by setting up new Crimean ministries and government departments.

 A resolution to that effect was made at an extraordinary plenary
session of the Supreme Council of the republic on Thursday, the Crimean
parliament spokesperson said.

“The resolution was passed with the aim to improve the administration
of the socio-economic development of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,
to optimize the Crimean executive power system, to guarantee the rights
and freedoms of the local people, national and civil accord, to protect
law and order and public safety, and with the aim to ensure efficient
and coordinated work of the executive authorities in the Autonomous
Republic of Crimea,” the statement said.

The newly formed Crimean ministries are: the Justice Ministry, the
Interior Ministry, the Ministry for Industrial Policy, the Ministry of
Fuel and Energy, and the Ministry for Information and Mass
Communications.

Other local executive authorities of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea include: the Treasury Service and the Pension Fund.

The Crimean parliament has also set up agencies with a special
status: the Tax Service, the Penitentiary Service, the Crimean Customs;
the Architectural and Building Inspectorate; and the Security Department
of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The authorities have also set up the Prosecutor’s Office and the Security Service of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Also there are plans to set up the foundation for mandatory social
insurance in case of unemployment; a fund for social protection of the
disabled; the fund for social insurance against industrial accidents and
occupational diseases; and the fund for social insurance in case of
temporary incapacity.
