The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ukraine has reported that from May 22, 2013 it is to change its previous practice of issuing Schengen visas for tourism and healthcare purposes.

“The types of visas mentioned above will be issued not just for a
single entry, but also for multiple entries. The measure was taken
according to the policy of Czech Republic to support individual and
organized tourism and the resort business, to broaden the possibilities
for personal contacts between the citizens of Ukraine and Czech Republic
according to the priorities of EU Eastern Partnership, and to support
the European integration aspirations of Ukraine,” reads a report posted
on the Web site of the Czech Embassy on Monday.

Schengen frequent tourism and healthcare-related visas can be issued
if only the applicant proves their intention to travel often and
regularly, and if the applicant proves their reliability, in particular,
that they used previous Schengen visas according to the rules. The
applicant has to give proof of their economic situation in their country
of origin, and their intention to leave Schengen member states before
the visa expires.

An applicant for a multiple-entry visa, when submitting their
application, must prove that previously they obtained at least two
single Schengen visas or one frequent-use Schengen visa for 90 days with
a validity of at least one year (with copies of these visas), which
they managed to use for their purpose.

“In such cases it could be assumed that the next multiple visa would
be used for its purpose. The validity of such visa will total one year,
and two years for the next visa,” reads the report.

“We draw the attention of all applicants to the fact that the
consular fee for the submission of an application for a multiple-entry
visa hasn’t been increased compared to an application to obtain a
single-entry visa. The consular fee remains the same both when
submitting application individually or through an accredited tourist
firm. The consular department doesn’t impose higher or additional fees
in this case. Accredited tourist firms have no reason to impose higher
payments on their clients for mediation when submitting application for a
multi-entry visa than for submitting single-entry visas,” officials at
the Embassy of the Czech Republic said.

Czech Schengen visas can be obtained in the consular
department of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kyiv, and in its
consulates general in Donetsk and Lviv.
