The alleged illegal actions of Former Ukrainian Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn in the sphere of state procurement are to be legally evaluated, Deputy Ukrainian Economy Minister Volodymyr Bandurov has said.

"The total cost of the abuse in this sphere amounts to Hr 15 billion. Special investigatory agencies in the sphere of economic crimes will evaluate such actions," the official told reporters.

Bandurov noted that at a meeting of the government on Friday Chairman of the State Financial Inspection of Ukraine Petro Andreyev would report on the investigation into numerous violations in the budget sphere over 2008-2009.

According to the deputy minister, the majority of these violations are connected with state procurement, for which Danylyshyn was responsible.

"Officials of this ministry, and in particular Bohdan Danylyshyn, agreed to noncompetitive schemes, for example they made procurement deals with a single contractor," Bandurov said.
