Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from Svoboda party Igor Miroshnichenko and Andrey Illenko, along with their assistants, broke down a door to the meeting room of Kyiv City Council on Wednesday after police refused to let them inside, a Radio Svoboda correspondent reported.

Before the incident, Cabinet Secretary Galina Gerega and local deputies were free to go to the meeting room. Among the main items on the agenda of today’s meeting of the council are land issues.

Also, before the beginning of the meeting, activists placed near the Kyiv City Administration a counter in the form of a large electronic scoreboard that counts down the days until the end of the current city council members’ terms on June 2, UNIAN reported.
