You're reading: Disabled people and war veterans get free train trips in May

Disabled people (groups I-III) and participants in the Great Patriotic War (Second World War) in May 2013 will be permitted to perform an unlimited number of trips in the first class wagons of Intercity+ trains. 

According to the press service of State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia, from May 1 to May 31, 2013 disabled people (groups I-III) and participants in the Great Patriotic War will be entitled to free travel (without meals) in the first class carriages of all Intercity+ trains that connect Kyiv with Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Lviv, and Kharkiv.

The program does not apply to second-class cars of Intercity+ trains and other trains.

Persons accompanying the disabled and war veterans (not more than one person) are provided a 50% discount on travelling.

To make a free trip under the program, the disabled and veterans of the Great Patriotic War should provide a corresponding certificate in the form valid as of January 1, 1992 at railroad ticket offices.
