You're reading: Donetsk People’s Republic willing to continue ceasefire consultations

Donetsk - Ceasefire consultations may continue on condition of the Ukrainian consent, self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic Prime Minister Alexander Borodai told reporters in Donetsk.

“We keep in mind the opinion of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the OSCE. Considering this opinion, the DPR government declares its readiness to carry on the ceasefire negotiations on condition the other side is ready,” he said on Tuesday evening, July 1.

Borodai added that the date of the next round of consultations had yet to be set.

“The date has not been set and the meeting venue is a stumbling stone. It seems the consultations group fears to travel to Donetsk in the absence of the ceasefire. But I can assure you we will provide the security of the contact group,” the DPR premier noted.

Borodai said the DPR administration insisted on holding the next round of peace consultations in Donbas.

“A variety of venues have been proposed. We may consider some of these venues but we would like to hold the next round on the DPR territory,” he said.
