A draft law on the state budget of Ukraine for 2013 has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the parliament’s official Web site, the bill was registered under number 11000 on Monday.
Acting Vice Premier and Social Policy Minister of Ukraine Sergiy Tigipko said earlier that the draft national budget for 2013 is based on a forecast of gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 3.4% and inflation of 4.8%.
Tigipko also said that by the end of the day the government will send the document to the parliament, which may consider it on Tuesday, December 4.
The same forecast for the country’s macroeconomic indicators was voiced last week by First Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Anatoliy Matksiuta.
Meanwhile, the head of the Regions Party parliamentary faction, Oleksandr Yefremov, said on December 3 that the draft national budget for 2013 foresaw the hryvnia exchange rate of UAH 8.50 per $1, inflation of more than 6%, and a 3.6% GDP growth.
The Ukrainian government in the state budget for 2012 foresaw growth in real GDP of 3.9%, with inflation forecast being 7.9%, and nominal GDP – up to UAH 1.5 trillion. According to the State Statistics Service, consumer prices in Ukraine dropped by 0.3% in January-October.
As reported, with reference to data from the State Statistics Service, Ukraine’s GDP in the third quarter of 2012 fell by 1.3% compared to the third quarter of 2011, while in the first quarter the increase was 2%, and in the second quarter – 3%. Most experts expect Ukraine’s GDP to continue shrinking in the fourth quarter of 2012.
On November 27, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said that the situation on the global market was affecting the Ukrainian economy, and its further deterioration may lead to a cessation of the country’s economic growth at the end of 2012. “We had an economic growth target of around 3.5% (for 2012). Now we will be happy to have any growth at all at the end of the year,” the prime minister said.
As reported, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Azarov and the entire Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The head of state signed a relevant decree on December 3, after Azarov filed in his resignation, due to his election as an MP. In the same decree, the president instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to continue fulfilling its duties until a new government is formed.
