KRAMATORSK - It is impossible to hold elections in temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk Oblast without resuming of Ukraine's jurisdiction there, head of Donetsk regional military and civilian administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky said.

“It’s impossible to carry elections without a withdrawal of the aggressor’s troops, disarmament of illegal armed formations, resuming of control over the border and resuming of the jurisdiction of Ukraine in temporarily occupied territories,” Zhebrivsky wrote on Facebook page on Jan. 13.

According to the region’s governor, in a present moment Ukraine needs to stand in face of Russia’s pressure and lack of understanding of the situation by the European partners.

Zhebrivsky also has reported that the regional authorities continue work over building of new infrastructure in Donbas. “Here Ukrainians also live and they seriously suffer from a very bad infrastructure (previously money were invested mainly in Donetsk). They, residents of Donetsk Oblast, must live in the country, which has a European infrastructure. Moreover, residents of temporarily occupied territory must see that life in Ukraine is their future and it is a happy one. This is our contribution into the future victory,” he stressed.
